    Condition: 0. Erstausgabe. - Der österr. Pädiater Carl Friedinger (1821-92) studierte 1842-47 an der Univ. Wien Medizin, wurde 1848 zum Dr. med., im folgenden Jahr zum Dr. chir. promoviert, war Magister der Geburtshilfe und erhielt seine weitere Ausbildung am Allgemeinen Krankenhaus in Wien. 1853 trat er in die staatliche Findelanstalt ein, beschäftigte sich intensiv mit dem Impfschutzwesen und habilitierte sich 1857 für Pockenschutzimpfung, 1866 für Säuglings- und Armenkrankheiten. Seit 1866 Direktionsleiter der Findelanstalt, wurde Friedinger 1868 in dieser Stellung vom Land Niederösterreich übernommen und wirkte in der nunmehr Niederösterreichischen Landes-Gebär- und Findelanstalt bis zu seiner Versetzung in den Ruhestand 1888. Besondere Verdienste erwarb sich Friedinger um die Einführung der Kuhpockenimpfung in Österreich. - Umschlag mit wenigen kl. Randläsuren. Ränder leicht bestoßen. Etw. gebräunt.
