Primarily about the French nineteenth century photographers the Bonfils family, including Felix Bonfils and his wife Lydie, the founders of the Bonfils photography company. Working for fifty years or so several members of the Bonfils family documented life in the Near East. The Harvard Semitic Museum has a particularly rich collection of Bonfils photographs.
