In excellent condition, the binding is scuffed a little at the hinges, especially at the front. Cracked inside at the front gutter with writing on the title page. Minor foxing and spots here and there throughout. Great illustrations with a Frontispiece of the pope along with several publishers' decorations throughout the text at the end of various chapters as well as a chapter head of a young man walking, and a wonderful last hurrah of an engraving as chapter end. Very Good Condition: 12mo: full mottle leather with bends to the corners, scuffs to the front hinge: heavily decorated spine: gilt diamond geometric bands alternating with small flower with brown label near the top with gilt lettering.
