Pp. xiv+278, 12 plates, 2 folding plans, title page printed in red & black, chronological table, appendix; red cloth, spine lettered and ruled in gilt, upper board decorated in blind, small stain near centre of upper board, edges of boards lightly rubbed, spine slightly faded; bookplate of David Levine, Sydney, on upper pastedown, piece torn from bottom fore-corner of pp. 193/4, a couple of pages slightly creased, a little light foxing; William Hodge & Company, Limited, London, 1951. First edition. Notable British Trials series. *Known as 'the Fiend of the Gorbals', Patrick Carraher (1906-1946) was tried twice for murder in Glasgow (in 1938 and 1946).
