The front hinge has been reinforced with sellotape & the rear of the title page has been sellotaped to the first page of the first vol. in similar fashion. The extremities have been bumped and rubbed and the spine edges are worn. Front cover has damp stained spots, occasional internal stains, nicks and pencil annotation. Despite it's thickness with over 1000 pages it is well held together & apart from the defects outlined it is generally clean internally. Casey [1824-1909], a native of Riverstown, County Sligo, was one of the most popular of the temperance poets. His skill with humourous verse ensured his poems went through many editions. For some years he was parish priest of Athleague, County Roscommon. Scarce.
