Printed wraps. 12 pp. A short work arguing for the use of prisons as a place to reform people convicted of crimes through education, work and other means, using the view that crime is a societal ill, and that the treatment of the criminal through reform would reduce crime overall. Edward R. Cass was the head of the American Prison Association and used a scientific approach to penology in order to improve prisons and the treatment of prisoners. GOOD condition. Minor staining to the rear cover. A few underlines in pencil in the text, with a note in pencil on one page.

Ames appeared in a number of films with Columbia and Universal in the 1940s, including "Calling Dr. Death" (1943) and "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves" (1944). From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good, moderately toned, with glue residue on the verso.
