Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. This NF Cupples & Leon book was published in 1942 with 248 pages; it is 8-1/4" x 5-3/8" and has a frontis + 2 (that is all I could find--there is no page listing the illustrations). The book is square, very clean, free of corner bumps and edge dings; spine ends are lightly bumped with only very slight fabric damage at the head. Upper rear corner has a very light stain and the top 1/4" of the fore edge of the last half of the book also has a slight stain that does not penetrate the pages. The interior is very clean and completely free of writing, stray marks, stains and page damage. The paper is very slightly toned and is very flexible and not at all brittle; end pages have some slight toning. Hinges are strong and not damaged in any way. The VG- jacket has wear along the front fold, a chip at the top front corner, and chips at the head and heel of the spine; the jacket's four corners are clipped. This book is a boy's book with a good deal of WWII, pro- British (actually, pro-Canadian) propaganda in it. Published in 1942, it takes place just as World War II starts, covers several weeks at most, and has spies galore in it. But it is not as romanticized in its view of the war as are both of the "Boy Allies" series from WWI.
