Il est suivi de la continuation de Thomas Artus, formant les livres 11 à 18, concernant les années 1463 à 1612, Le second volume , comprend les livres 19 à 23 composés par François Eudes de Mézeray couvrant la période allant de 1612 à 1661 , le livre 23, concernant les années 1650 à 1661, paraît ici pour la première fois, il est complété de 5 autres textes, présentés avec une pagination séparée : L'édition possède une abondante illustration. La partie sur les Illustrations de Blaise de Vigenere comprend 2 planches dépliantes gravées , représentant la Ville de Constantinople , l'armée de l'empereur turc « rangée en bataille » et deux compositions gravées sur cuivre à pleine page. La partie sur les costumes est la plus abondamment illustrée. Elle possède 62 belles gravures sur cuivre à pleine page d'après Nicolas Nicolay, représentant des costumes d'hommes et de femmes, sauf la première figurant l'empereur sur son trône.
