Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book, a delightful literary escapade, transports readers to a charming village where the annual festival is cause for celebration and intrigue. Amidst the festivities, a mischievous prank involving stolen roses threatens to disrupt the joyous occasion. When young Lucette is falsely accused of the theft, she turns to the benevolent seigneur, Monsieur de Malesherbes, for justice. As Malesherbes investigates, he uncovers a hidden network of village secrets and realizes that the theft is part of a larger pattern of petty tyranny. The author skillfully weaves together elements of drama, humor, and social commentary, inviting readers to reflect on the power of authority, the importance of compassion, and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity. Through its captivating characters and thought-provoking themes, this book offers a profound exploration of the human condition, making it an enduring classic worth savoring. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
