Ici le second livre est en édition originale, le premier livre est la seconde édition et contient hors d'un portrait aussi une notice biographique du traducteur par son fils et des stances prononcées à sa mort par Alexandre Paul de Filère. On apprend que Chalvert avait étudié a Toulouse avec comme compagnon Roaldes et Bodin. Il étudiait aussi à Bologne chez Socinus, à Pavia chez Alciatus.
