One of more than 1,300 titles published from 1943 to 1947 by a joint federal/publishing industry nonprofit council to supply WWII service members with a wide range of free reading options; almost all were printed in an oblong, two-column format to fit into G.I.s' pockets; this one is relatively thin (96 pages) and staple-bound. A rookie Navy crew captures a Japanese destroyer. The book is unmarked; creasing and edgewear to the wraps; age-toning to the pages; sleeve protected.
