Signed by the author on the title page. Spine edges worn. Some cover wear. Sticker residue at back cover. Abraham S. Chanin was a Professor of Journalism at the University of Arizona, Tucson. Born in New York, he moved to Tucson, AZ in 1928. He became a true westerner and was even in the movie Arizona, atop his favorite horse. He graduated with a Journalism degree from the University of Arizona. He did sports and editorial writing for 36 years at the Arizona Daily Star. He was also editor and publisher of The Arizona Post, a newspaper for the Tucson Jewish community, and Collegiate Baseball, a national publication. After retiring from the Arizona Daily Star, he created and directed the Bloom Southwest Jewish Archives at the University of Arizona (1988-1994). He wrote several books on topics ranging from U of A athletic history to freedom of the press and Jewish history.
