First and only edition of this extremely rare booklet of Quechua (Inca) poems IN THE ORIGINAL LANGUAGE (with Spanish translations), an offprint from volume 15 of the Actes de la Société Philologique. pp. 91-107. The first poem, Chimbaycela's "Cushiquillca", is translated by Luís Cordero. The second, Guaman's "Rinimi, llacta" is translated by the author. A brief note on the lorelei (by Charles Schoebel) follows, and finally a letter to the Pope, with the complete text in Kalispel (Pend d'Oreille, an Indian language of the American Northwest), Latin, and English. Large 8vo. Original plain wraps. ENTIRELY UNCUT. FINE AND BRIGHT. Very rare, especially in such pristine condition.
