First Edition
Softcover. Condition: Near Fine. First edition, sheet music. Lyrics by J. Will Callahan and Billy Green. Music by Charley Brown. Front cover has an early, large light blue bookstore rubberstamp, covers a bit split at lower spine, front cover has one short nicked tear, very good with striking pictorial front cover quite fresh and bright. Folio. 5pp. Pictorial wrappers in color depicting a woman being offered a variety of seven extravagant gifts, each held by an anonymous outstretched arm. First line of lyrics begin: "Mary Green was a village queen with a bashful little beau. Mary's ma was a suffragette at the home she ruled the roost." (concluding with advice that the suitor change his ways). Sheet music with suffrage themes are uncommon in the marketplace. Very scarce. *OCLC* lists two holdings.
