Acquired from the estate of Birmingham, Alabama pathologist, bibliophile, and genealogist Dr. Albert Eugene Casey (1903-1982) who served as director of laboratories at Birmingham Baptist Hospitals from 1942-1972.

Jahrhundert aufgezeichnet wurden, bewirkten in ganz Frankreich eine enorme Rechtszersplitterung. In der Folgezeit wurde das Bedürfnis nach einer Rechtsvereinheitlichung immer deutlicher und wurde nicht nur von den Juristen, sondern auch von den im ganzen Land wirtschaftenden Kaufleuten gefordert. "Und wenn sich die einzelnen Coutumes auch bis 1804 behaupteten, so wurde doch durch die französische Rechtswissenschaft auf dem Wege über das römische Recht und das sog. Proche des parlementaires parisiens, il fut remarquable pour l'attention qu'il prêta au droit français dont il fut le premier auteur à faire figurer l'expression dans ses ouvrages.
