Soft cover. Condition: Fine. Barron, Courtney (photography) (illustrator). Fine condition color photographic softcover wraps. Includes Dedication; Acknowledgments; Preface; and Favorite Quotes. Signed by the members of Take 6. (see photographs) "Years ago, a dear friend of mine, Hallerin Hill, and I were standing outside of WOCG-FM having a conversatin. Though I was happily singing in Take 6, he encouraged me to consider doing a solo record. I shook my head in doubt, "Man, I don't know, Hal. I'm just a bass." He said, "Are you kidding? It would be great! I can see it now . you could call it - "BassLines." I grunted, but the title stuck in my ear. As the years rolled by, many things would happen while I was out on the road where I'd find myself saying, "I should jot that down." Years later, when I finally started to do so, it was because my life had fallen apart. In the span of a year and a half, I lost my mother to cancer, my wife, kids, and home in divorce. I wrote because it was cathartic; I needed to somehow get that stuf out of my system - so, I wrote. Eventually, it worked. A personal and professional events passed, both mountain highs and valley lows were scribed onto my Mac. But, what was first conceptualized as a solo musical project had somehow transitioned into a personal written journal. When Take 6 decided to build a website, we needed content. I decided to dust off the BassLines title and share my behind-the-scenes view from the road with our fans.people responded quickly, which let me know that daring to be vulnerable is helpful. A lot of them had experienced the same things I had, and for them BassLInes "struck a chord." I wrote the column for a number of years and realized that it had grown quite popular. After much encouragement, I decided to publish a collection of those written stories. It's been an amazing run. Take 6's ministry has taught me so much about life and the world in which we live. It has provided me a front-row seat to world events while allowing me to sit quietly and ask myself the tough questions. You'll see those questions and read some of those answers. So many wonderful people have told me that tehy have connected with the things that I've written. I'm thrilled because I'm just being honest. I haven't always been so candid, but I feel my testimony is something that can encourage others. So, I'm gonna keep sharing. Some of these stories, especially the personal ones, brought tears to my eyes as I relived them. Some cracked me up. Some caused me to shake my head in the amazement of God's grace. All of them, however, are true. I hope you are blessed." - excerpt from the Preface. Signed by Author(s).
