Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. Scarce 1917 Wartime Printing. Octavo, pp. xvii, 187, complete with the original frontispiece illustration of the hand of Lord Kitchener and 4 pages of publisher advertisements to the rear. Bound in the original publisher's cloth with distinct cover illustrations and gilt text. The binding remains… tight, square, and structurally robust. Internally, the primary text pages are clean, and free from internal markings.Condition & Production Note: True to its publication in 1917 during the height of First World War paper rationing, this edition utilises the characteristic high-acid wartime paper stock. Consequently, while the main text pages are clean, there is prominent, age-appropriate browning (page tone) and foxing heavily localised to the preliminary pages, frontispiece, endpapers, and the final index/advertisement leaves. Light bumping to the spine ends. Overall, a decent, robust copy of this early 20th-century occult classic.
