Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a remarkable autobiography by the self-taught artist Chester Harding, capturing his journey from humble beginnings to becoming a renowned portrait painter. The artist's moving account transports us back to the early 19th century, painting a vivid picture of the chall…enges and triumphs that shaped his life. Harding's passion for art emerged amidst hardships, yet he persevered, honing his skills through sheer determination. His encounters with notable figures, including Daniel Boone and Governor Clarke, add a fascinating historical dimension to the narrative. Through Harding's eyes, we gain insights into the complexities of society, the role of art, and the transformative power of pursuing one's dreams. By turns inspiring, informative, and deeply personal, this autobiography is a testament to the indomitable spirit of an artist who left an enduring legacy in the world of portraiture. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Illustrated with numerous black and white captioned photos of faculty members, administration, students, student groups, athletic teams, and the like. Grey wrappers tied with a gold cord with front wrapper bearing an image of flowers surrounding the triang…le insignia of Delta High School with '07 inside the triangle. Per the title page, this is Vol. II. Wrappers slightly soiled and chipped. It appears that this was once perfect bound, i.e., like a notepad, but now most of the binding is gone; but the pages are all there and the whole is bound with the gold cord, which may have been the original binding. An unusual piece of ephemera from Delta, Colorado. The Senior Class of 1907 consisted of eleven students. Besides a black and white photo of each, there is a rather long biographical statement. Students pictured and described are as follows: Richard Gell Burson, Mayme Blanche Clarke, Helena Cenung Cook, Mildred Delta Harding, Chester Ernest Harding, Minnie Jeannette Isensee, Irene Elizabeth Kuhnley, Kathleen May Maxfield, Hazel Musser, Carolyn Lucile Obert, and Verna Hazel Waterman.
