(The entire volume comprises ii, 313-380 pages with 2 maps, plus a folding map). Original printed wrappers slightly chipped and tanned; joints splitting; a few other minor signs of age and handling; a very good copy. Chewings offers 'a brief outline of Central Australia and its prospects', with an introductory summary on exploration; the main emphasis is on geology.The other contributions to this volume are: BAKER, G.P.: 'Travel and Ascents in the Basardjusi District, Daghestan' (with folding colour lithographed map); and PRATT, A.E.: 'Two Journeys toTa-tsien-lu on the Eastern Borders of Tibet'.
