A wonderful production (printed in Japan to a high quality) which chronicles American graffic design during the remarkable 8-year period (1935-1943) where the program of nation infrastructure building (Works Progress Administration) helped pull the USA out of the Great Depression and produce for the war effort. Illustrated with b/w and colour plates, drawings and photographs, and this copy includes a promotional/order form illustrated in colour and including bibliographical information about the posters. With an introduction by Francis V. O'Connor, A Remembrance of the WPA by Anthony Velonis, A Design Perspective by Jim Heimann, and A Remembrance of the Federal Art Project by Richard Floethe. This heavy book will cost more to send overseas, than any default postage rate noted (roughly twice as much).
