Good+, in a Good+ DJ. Minor shelf/edge wear to black cloth boards with gilt spine titles - corners lightly bumped. Only flaws are the front board has a slight bow to it and there is a hole at the top of page 15 that does not interfere with the text. Moderate shelf/edge wear, dust soiling and a sticker abrasion to fragile unclipped DJ - now in mylar. No previous owner markings - all pages are clean and unmarked. 60 illustrations.A very respectable copy in DJ.LOC-SSE-06.

Slight cracking to gutters causing binding to be loose, however pages remain attached. Pages and plates are lightly tanned throughout. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Light tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Dent to top edge of front board. Scratches overall.

Wonderful, profusely illustrated compendium with approx 1/3 of the text devoted to side saddle riding. The author was appointed Military Riding Instructor during World War I.
