Quarto, cloth, illustrated with in-text images + 41 engraved plates [~ 8 of which are chromo-lithographs or tinted engravings] + 12 engraved plates; with listings of pottery marks, lamp designs, coinage, personal implements, weapons, statuary, etc., Index; iv + 177, [blank] + [2] Ads. Weight: 2 lbs. 8 oz. Ex Library Crerar; with bookpate & usual library markings. Solid cloth binding with bump upper right corner. Wonderful array of detailed in-text images & more than 50 engraved B&W plates (8 or 9 seem to be chromo-lithographs--or hand-tinted engravings--of mosaics & artifacts); lengthy descriptive text; usefully annotated and indexed. Uniform age-toning; title page & a couple of pages detached though present; half a dozen or so pages dog-eared (or with corner "ear" missing and the occasional edge nick); paper used for text is fragile. Thicker paper has been used for the plates. The latter have bends to their upper corners. The color plates are unfoxed.

Cloth. Condition: Very Good. With 24 Chromo Views (illustrator). Light blue cloth stamped with gilt to decorative front. Tooled seal on back.Wear to cloth extremities and tearing at top of front outside hinges. Illustrated in full colour with 24 chromo views, 2 per page recto with verso blank and a further 48 pages of descriptive text. One inscription dated 1892, and one bookplate dated 1964, to endpapers. Small water stain on one picture and some very slight occasional foxing. Otherwise inside is very clean and the colour illustrations are exceptional. A very good copy.
