[CALIFORNIA]. First edition. 8vo. Color, stiff, pictorial wrappers, ii, 13 pp., double column, illustrated from photographs, sources. The story of an extra friendly seal who liked people and was an interesting character from about 1898 into the 1920's. Many of the old-timers fondly remember Ben and help to commemorate a statute to Old Ben as a Bicentennial project of the Avalon Beautiful Association in September, 1975. Many entertaining tales about Ben and his activities with the old-timers are told. Fine copy.
