Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Leichte Rillen / Abschürfungen / Risse / Knicke. With her works, the Slovenian artist Jasmina Cibic (*1979) sheds light on social, political, and historical questions from the viewpoint of art. NADA is an impressive film trilogy that was developed in cooperation with the Kunstmuseen Krefeld, Aarhus, the European Capital of Culture 2017, and the MSU Zagreb. In it, she examines the sociopolitical interconnections of the cultural sector and scrutinizes mechanisms of power that play a role in the development of national identities. The trilogy culminates in her site-specific exhibition The Spirit of Our Needs in Haus Esters in Krefeld. The catalogue is a fully illustrated reader comprising archival material, texts, and an interview between the artist and Katia Baudin (Director of the Kunstmuseen Krefeld). It is the first German-language publication (German/English) about the artist. (source site de l'éditeur).

Buch. Condition: Neu. Neuware -Playing Both Sides: Decoding and Mythmaking The Slovenian artist Jasmina Cibic (b. Ljubljana, 1979; lives and works in London) exemplifies a young generation of creative minds born in the former Yugoslavia whose works address social, political, and historical themes. In 2013, she represented her country at the Venice Biennale. Cibic's projects synthesize gesture, drama, and reenactment. They are based on extensive archival research and the searching examination of historical traces, material the artist turns into haunting film installations and performances. Her multifaceted approach combines original sources with fictional accounts of events. Spielraum presents comprehensive documentation of a three-part film and exhibition project that Cibic developed in cooperation with the Ludwig Museum, Budapest; the International Centre of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana; and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Belgrade. With essays by Anna Gritz, Róna Kopeczky, Una Popovic, Dubravka Sekulic, Jelena Vesic, Alessandro Vincentelli, WHW, and Giovanna Zapperi. 352 pp. Englisch.
