Robinson writes to Bruce Kellner of Hartwick College, Oneonta, NY,…arranging a time when they can meet at the Met. "It will be a pleasure to talk to you about Mr. Van Vechten. Saturday is actually a better day for me than Friday because Friday we have a dress rehearsal of ADRIANA LECOUVREUR." Kellner was a Van Vechten scholar, the author of "Carl Van Vechten and the Irreverent Decades" [1968].Francis Robinson [1910-1980] who was photographed by Carl Van Vechten, was the longtime assistant manager of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. He was nicknamed "Mr. Met".
