Unbound. Condition: Near Fine. Two page Autograph Letter Signed ("Bronia") to Ruth Gordon and Garson Kanin on Rene Clair's stationary. Dated July 5, (but no year, but previous to Rene Clair's death in 1981). Old folds from mailing, else near fine. A chatty and affectionate letter mostly in English with a smattering of easily understood French incorporated, describing her and Rene Clair's travel and other plans: "Just returned from Rome . Enfin, everythign weas great - They honored Rene the way it should have been done in France, but here we have been treated life 'Silence est d'or'! No comments!" Later she writes, apparently about a re-purposed briefcase: "Darling Garson, your briefcase is all ready - Your name is printed under Rene's name but you can have Rene's name removed if you desire so." Bronia (or Bronja) Perlmutter was an actress in silent films who was married to Clair from 1928 until his death in 1981. A pleasing and interesting letter.
