The Collection includes, It Came From Outer Space, Uncorrected Proof (Gauntlet Press, 2004), signed by Bradbury, It Came From Outer Space, First Edition, Signed Limited Edition (Gauntlet Press, 2004), this being an out of sequence Publisher s Copy and finally, a the speculative fiction short story, Is That You, Herb? (Gauntlet Press, 2003) Again, signed by Bradbury. All three of these pieces have been signed. The books belonged to Texas Defense attorney, Tom Garner. He was a big book collector and would befriend many authors and apparently even insisted on being Ray Bradburys driver when he came to Texas! (See my other Harry Crews listings where Crews signed many books for Garner with WILD inscriptions). RB and TG became friends over the years and these were pieced together by Garner. The clamshell case to hold the books was custom designed and is massive. A beautiful collection of signed Bradbury pieces and the proof and the Herb short story figure to be quite scarce signed by the author. Price for entire set, including Clamshell case. From the James Strohn Copley collection, with his bookplate affixed to front endpaper. Published as a limited edition of 1001 signed copies, this being number 488 of 1001. An exceptionally scarce set to find with the publisher's clamshell box. Edith Bolling Wilson (1872-1961) was the second wife of Woodrow Wilson, marrying in 1915 during his first term as president. After President Wilson suffered a stroke, she took an active role in managing his schedule and flow of communications. In this memoir, she claims that she played a role in the "stewardship" of his administration, while other historians have asserted that she took control of the Executive Branch of government. Signed.
