The endpapers (both front and rear) have been excised by a former owner and the hinges have been repaired. "The purpose of My Book of Indoor Games is to furnith amusement, entertainment and to be the means of sociability. So very often the question comes up - What shall we do? Seller: Theoria Books, Andover, MA, U.S.A.
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 120pp. No editions or printings cited: presumed First Printing. Illustrated endpapers, with faint purple rendering of knight on horseback in left foreground, setting out upon winding road to castle in the distance. Shiny, strong paper with four black and white full-page photo-illustrations of children playing; profusely illustrated throughout with black and white drawing, including frontispiece. No dust jacket. Very heavy, durable, green library binding on spine and covers, with full front cover color paste-down of two young girls playing games indoors, seen by the reader from outside, through a green-shuttered window with many thin black lines, evidently signifying the wind outdoors; title lettering in red across top front cover, author name lettering in red across bottom front cover. Only the slightest rubbing to extremities; slight patch (2 1/2" x 1 1/4" area) of superficial abrasive streaks on rear cover at bottom center (leaving green color intact, if barely diminished in tone); a light red stain on front cover paste-down (3 3/4" x 1 1/8" , at widest), resembling a column of smoke, widening toward the top, its point origin obscure, yet negligibly impacting the paste-down illustration, while appearing mainly on the cream background for the red title lettering (describes worse than it is, but there you have it); illustrated inside rear cover paste-down (same as inside front cover) and illustrated rear flyleaf separated down hinge, exposing white webbing: Now reglued: binding still strong, while some signatures stretched (NONE loose); Gift inscription in elegant cursive: "To Richard Kelsey and Elliot and Dean, when it's rainy and wet outdoors. from Miss Brown". Charming book, still in solid, usable condition. (Clean text.).
