Condition: Sehr gut. Zustand: Sehr gut | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | Carolyn Corley Clark -- a cartoonist at age five, a writer and ilustrator of original stories at eight, speech writer at eleven and prize-winning short story writer at sixteen. When she graduated from The University of North Carolina in 1957, her Phi Beta Kappa induction topped sixteen years of straight A's, and she excelled as a radio personality before her twenty-second birthday. After marriage, Carolyn put her broadcasting career on hold to raise a family. Eventually she resumed her career, writing advertising copy for newspapers and direct mail and informercials for television, all in major markets. Later, she not only wrote advertising copy for a fine jewelry store operated by her and her husband, she also used her artistic skills to become a jewelry designer, both for clients and for sale in their store. In her seventies, she fulfilled a life-long dream to become a tour guide in historic Beaufort, South Carolina, where she retired with her husband. She wrote her own script and made period dresses to wear. After she died in 2016, a victim of Alzheimer's disease, her husband began writing, first as a way to deal with grief. Reflecting on Carolyn's life and accomplishments, he found wonderful memories surfacing of their more than six decades together, beginning in Chapel Hill where as students they met and fell in love, and he decided to write this story. The result is a fresh, sometimes serious, sometimes humorous and always heartfelt memoir of a remarkable lady and a lasting love.

Zustand: Sehr gut | Seiten: 256 | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | Leading the Crimson and Gray chronicles the lives and legacies of those who served in one of WSU's most visible roles--president. Challenges included bitter battles over the Pullman location and curriculum, student protests, and severe economic depression and recession, yet their accomplishments were substantial. Early presidents launched the college, expanded the academic program, and made progress toward university status. Later presidents championed athletic achievement, strengthened enrollment, increased research grants and contracts, completed major construction projects, won state legislative backing for a new medical college, and more. Together, they left a legacy to make the Cougar Nation proud.

Vintage reference photograph of an animation inker working on a cel of Pecos Bill for the 1948 animated film. Printed mimeo snipe affixed to the verso. From the archive of film historian and author Joel Finler. The last anthology feature made by Walt Disney Productions, and the last film to feature The Andrews Sisters trio. Walt Disney's typical practice of not hiring women animators changed after World War II, although the position was still by and large held by men. The processes of inking and painting cels, however, were almost entirely performed by young women. Although inking and painting were integral to the animation process, male animators often disparaged the work, considering it unchallenging and uncreative, and inkers and painters were rarely credited in the finished films. The unseen women of the ink and paint department were the subject of a 2017 book, "Ink and Paint: The Women of Walt Disney's Animation." 10 x 8 inches. Near Fine, with brief wear at the corners.
