No Binding. Condition: Fine. Brier and Bristle [Scottish Terrier]. Bert Cobb. 1931. *** A dry point etching from The Crafton Collection, 1931. Pictured are superlative examples of the Scottish Terrier breed. Judging from the way they are posed, they just know what an attractive couple they are. The names of the dogs and the artist's engraved signature in script are in bottom margin. *** Cobb's dry point process involved etching the image into a copper plate with a diamond or steel stylus. The stylus etches the line and also throws up a burr that is higher than the plate surface. The effect when inked is a soft look, which is what Cobb needed for his portraits of our furry friends. *** In excellent condition with blank verso, tipped in on original paper backing with light foxing. *** Etching is 8.75 inches tall by 6.75 inches, mounted on a sheet 11.25 inches high by 8.5 inches.
