Condition: FAIR. Circa 1840s. VERY RARE. Original sewn binding. Fading red cloth hardcover with decorative blind stamping. (dimensions 4x6). Frontispiece. Many woodcuts illustrative. Library tape neatly placed to spine. 135pp. Cobbin (1777-1851) was for some time Secretary of the British and Foreign School Society and later appointed First Secretary of the Home Mission Society. At retirement he devoted himself to producing many biblical studies. He was an evangelical. This little book was one of many such. FAIR. Covers fading. Ex-seminary library with pocket to rear pastedown. Black library tape to spine. Prelims are brittle. Textblock appears clean but browning. Front hinge open to mull.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Frontis of the Matthew and Mark Vol. has a Fold-Out Map of Palestine and the Luke and John Vol. has a Fold-Out Plan of Jerusalem. This edition contains Rev. Barnes latest Corrections and has been carefully Revised by Rev. Cobbin. Period Green cloth cover with blind embossed decoration on front, back & spine. Gilt Titles and "Cobbin's Complete Edition" on spines. Yellow endpapers. 7 1/2" Tall. Matthew and Mark, iv/4 preliminary pages, main text 513 pages + list of errors corrected by Rev. Cobbin. Luke and John, III/3 preliminary pages, main text 516 pages + list of corrections. From the family library of Silvanus Trevail, famous Cornish Architect. Both books signed on ffep first by James Trevail 1849 & 1852 and by Laura Trevail (sister to Silvanus) 1879. No other inscriptions.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good +. Half leather with pebble-grain boards. Raised bands. Gold gilt lettering and design on spine. Marbled end-papers. Bindery ticket inside front cover. Spine and title page indicate "Volume I" but this is a complete volume (Genesis to Revelation - all 66 books commented upon). Many high-quality, full-page engravings by Dore, plus other engravings and drawings by other artists of the day. Spurgeon: "An admirable collection of notes." Full refund if not satisfied.

Three Quarter Buckram. Condition: Good. Two volumes bound in one large, thick book. Complete. Original three quarter black morocco leather binding with raised bands and gilt lettering on the spine. Pebble black cloth boards. Title page in Red and Black ink. The cloth covering on the back is mottled nad worn. Marginalia in pencil on a few pages. Overall in GOOD condition.
