Born in 1913, Coe founded Coe Archery Company, where he handcrafting some of the finest bows in the industry during the next several decades. His bows are still used by archers around the globe. He sold patents to Fred Bear, and promoted bowhunting in Michigan all of his life. He was just the fourth man in history to be honored with a "21-arrow salute" at the Michigan Traditional Bowhunters Jamboree in Grayling (Fred Bear was the first).
