The conference marked the 15th anniversary of the launching of complex studies of the Globular Amphorae culture, carried out at first by the Kuiavian Expedition. The problem of the Globular Amphorae culture was tackled as part of extensive studies of the prehistoric communities of Kuiavia, an important link in a comprehensive synthesis of the prehistory of the region that is being worked on. It was also obvious that the "Kuiavian studies" are very important in the context of the Globular Amphorae culture as a whole, since its Kuiavian concentration was among the most dynamic, affecting cultural transformations in a number of other, sometimes very distant, regions. The 15 years of studies provided a very clear picture of the settlement of this culture: 770 new settlement points were discovered, of which 95 were surveyed in greater detail (with 80 being either sondaged or excavated). A rich collection of heretofore rare materials was obtained, and this cast light on a number of issues which till recently were largely beyond the grasp of Polish prehistorians, to mention but the stone industry, the structure of meat consumption, or the flint industry. Significant progress was also recorded in documentation of transformations of the Globular Amphorae culture, especially as regards its earliest stages. Realizing the importance of these developments, the editors of "Archaeologia Interregionalis" decided to offer the obtained results for a wider discussion with the participation of scientists from all over Poland. -- Contents: Aleksandra Cofta-Broniewska, Introduction; Kazimierz Tobolski, Preliminary Information About Progress in Studies of the Postglacial History of Vegetation of the Great Poland: Kuiavia Lowland; Danuta J. Michczynska & Mieczyslaw F. Pazdur, Calibration of the Radiocarbon Time Scale Covering the Period From the Second to of the Fourth Millennium BC, Lech Czerniak, Globular Amphorae Culture and the Late-Band Model of Culture of Neolithic Lowland Communities: Problem of System Genesis; Lucyna Domanska, From Studies of the Origin of Globular Amphorae Culture Flint Industry; Lech Czerniak & Marzena Szmyt, Progress in Studies of Globular Amphorae Culture Periodization; Aleksander Kosko, Globular Amphorae Culture Versus Funnel Beaker Culture; Janusz Czebreszuk, Late Horizon of Globular Amphorae Culture Versus Other Cultural Structures of the Neolithic-Bronze Age Interstage: Problem of System Disintegration; Janusz Piontek & Blandyna Jerszynska, Present State of Biological Investigations of Globular Amphorae Culture Communities in Poland; Marian Sobocinski & Daniel Makowiecki, Current State of Knowledge of Archaeozoological Materials of the Globular Amphorae Culture; Piotr Chachlikowski, Stone Industry of Globular Amphorae Culture People in Kuiavia; Zdzislaw Hensel, Copper Alloys in the Globular Amphorae Culture Against a Comparative Background; Wlodzimierz Wojciechowski, Closing Speech at the Conference 'Globular Amphorae Culture in Kuiavia'.
