First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Near Fine hardcover in blue boards. This is the First Pirate Editions printing without any mention of Grove Press being associated as the distributor. Hoffman wrote this book in 1970 and had it rejected by over 30 publishers before deciding to start the imprint Pirate Editions so that he could print it himself. Eventually, Grove Press acted as a distributor and eventually the publisher, but his copy pre-dates that association. Minor bumping to the bottom page ends of about 20 pages, otherwise a bright and attractive copy of this scarce edition. 318 pp.
