Condition: Near Fine. Photographs by Slim Aarons, John Swope & Juergen Teller. (illustrator). 2011. First edition. Rizzoli, Hotel Il Pellicano & Violette Editions. New York & Italy. 2011. First edition. Hardback, quarto; beige cloth-bound boards, with illustrated paper-covered upper board. 240 pages. Illustrated throughout with b&w and colour photographs. English. 305x220mm. 1.5kg. Near fine; very slight shelf wear. A photographic celebration of the Hotel Il Pellicano, the secluded, exclusive hotel at Porto Ercole, Italy. Three photographers - John Swope, Slim Aarons and Juergen Teller - have captured the glamour and dolce vita of this small area of seaside paradise at different times over the last century. John Swope's photos show the hotel's early beginnings between 1964 and 1971. In Slim Aarons' images (1967-1991) the place comes alive with the beautiful faces of the International jet set - the Borgheses, Corsinis, Puccis and Pignatellis. Juergen Teller captures the next generation at play at the Globetrotter's party in the Summer of 2009. Beaux Books specialises in fine and rare books on art and culture in the 20th and 21st centuries. We welcome questions about our books and we are happy to provide any extra images.
