Originally published in New York by Dodd, Mead in 1907. The library of collector E. Dwight Church (1836-1908), then one of the most significant American collections in private hands, was eventually acquired by the Huntington Library. Catalogue compiler George Watson Cole (1850-1939) was a renowned American librarian and bibliographer whose career included stints at the Pratt Institute, the Newberry Library, and the Huntington Library.
