Published as a uniform matching set in 1983, it brought together six famous, sweeping novels that each center on the dramatic (and often tumultuous) life of a distinct female protagonist. These are the original romance novels. "But she put an arm round… his shoulders, and, letting her fingers fall, sought and plucked out the tit's feather and abandoned it to the stormy wind." (p. 179 Colette). Fine, with only some gilt blemishes on one volume, Nana. All edges gilted. Red leather with five [5] raised bands, gilt titling and decorative panels and rule. Covers have gilt boarder and central flourishes on front and back. Tan moire end papers with matching satin bookmarks still tucked in.
