Series half-title giving this as Volume XCII, + f/piece engraved portrait with tissue guard + xii + 431, main issue is tanning spots from verso front end-paper reducing from very heavy to nothing on p.2, similarly increasing from light on p.414 to fairly heavy on p. 414 and facing recto rear end-paper, otherwise clean, tight and unmarked.Binder's small label bottom inner corner rear pastedown. Tanning spotting to various degrees at ends seems common in this series. All the main chapters are on venereal disease but six 'minor works and essays' from p.328. Colles's dates: 1783-1845. He was best known for introducing mercury as a treatment for syphilis 15 cm x 22 cm.
