Rarissima opera in edizione originale che raccoglie le impressioni del "mondo ferroviario" dell'Autore cresciuto con il padre, al quale è dedicata l'opera, Capo Stazione di Crescentino nel vercellese. L'esemplare presenta al frontespizio una dedica autografa dell'Autore (datata "Crescentino 18-8-'16") a Bernardo Chiara, il quale dopo aver letto ed annotato a matita l'intero volume, invia nuovamente l'esemplare al mittente arricchito di due distinte, fitte, ordinate ed autografate dedice che occupano; la prima, il retro della brossura e il retro del frontespizio (datata "Vauda di Front, 24 Aprile 1916") che si riferisce alle impressioni avute dal romanzo precedente "Fiamma Viva"; e la seconda dedica, che occupa le ultime due pagine bianche del volume (datata "Vauda di Front, 18 Settembre 1916") si riferisce all'opera che "con eloquenza giusta celebra le benemerenze patriottiche dei ferrovieri" come indicato dallo stesso Chiara il quale (1863-1942) fu erudito insegnante e scrittore, nato a Vauda e morto a Torino. Ritratto dell'Autore fuori testo a piena pagina. Articolo di giornale di M. Bertolini dedicato al presente volume conservato all'interno. Esemplare perfetto.
