No date, but there is a tipped in slip on the title page explaining that while the introduction is dated 1914, publication was withheld for a year due to the war. In addition, over this year Steele was promoted from Colonel to Major General. Half bound in red leather over red cloth boards. Gilt titles and five raised bands on spine. Moderate wear to hinges and corners. Gilt on top. Other edges deckle. Abstract green and red design on endpapers. Large glue mark on bfep - whatever was affixed was ripped off, leaving a hole in the bfep. Tight binding, many parts never read. VG/--. Book.
