An anthology of forty fiction stories, poems, hymns, legends, Bible stories, Bible verses, and narrative verses of Christmas, adapted for children and young adults that were selected to "have literary merit, are reverent in spirit, and are suitable for children", from a wide variety of classic authors and sources. A beautifully preserved, lovely vintage, gilt embossed and decorative binding. Former owner's elegant vintage bookplate to the inside front cover, some offset mild age-toning to the end-papers, slight rub-wear to the upper and lower spine edges and corner tips, minor wrinkle to the upper spine end, tiny ink dot to the rear cover's edge, else nicely square, sound and very good plus in lovely green linen with reverse raised titles to an elaborate gilt embossed mantle-piece adorned with gilt-flamed red candles, topped with a red candle-holding black Christmas tree, and surrounded with a red-berried black holly pattern decoration to the front cover and to the spine, green headband and tail-band; no dust jacket.
