TARR AND PROF. FETHER. Eugen Sandow was a German bodybuilder and showman who in 1901 organized the world's first major bodybuilding competition. Considered the "Father of modern bodybuilding", he was one of the first to model his physique to predetermined dimensions so as to resemble classic Greek and Roman sculptures.
