Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Paperback Edition. Paperback. Love and War. This book comprises the letters - every one of them - written by my father Ted Trafford, to my mother, then Patience Randall while he was serving in France with the 20th. (County of London) Battalion (Blackheath and Woolwich) between March 1915 and September 1916/ The letters speak for themselves: they have not been edited. Ted, as a good soldier, kept no diary and his letters give away no military secrets. To place them in context I have compiled a simple military narrative which month by month will give the reader some idea of the conditions under which the ordinary infantryman worked and played, fought, lived and sometimes died. No formal history of the 20th London has ever been written.Illustrated. 160 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions ,and all types of Academic Literature.).
