Celebrities from the world of stage, politics, music and sport have contributed their favourite recipes and all royalties from the sale of the book are being donated to Save the Children. Amongst those who have donated recipes are Margaret Thatcher, Neil Kinnock, Rowan Atkinson, John Cleese, Steve Davis, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, and many others. The recipes range from basic, easy to prepare snacks to intricate and unusual dishes. Many of the recipes are highly original and they will appeal to cooks of all abilities. Ruth Madoc gives her recipe for Beef Satay, Michael Heseltine his for Steak and Kidney Pie, Lord Soper his for Sole St Clement, and David Steel his for Selkirk Bannocks, whilst Sue Lawley has contributed a recipe for making Plum and Almond Preserve.
