A large, heavy, hardback book, quarter bound in red leather, with matching corners and red cloth boards (some wear to boards please photos), marbled endpapers, gilt edging to papers, and gilt titles on the spine. Please note, as this a very heavy and large book, shipping/postage may increase from listed price especially for overseas buyers, depending on final destination. This wonderful single volume (England (North), Scotland, and Ireland,) is in reasonably good condition, it is a used book, however considering its over one hundred old its in remarkably good condition. Normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with use and age. Complied in conjunction with "The Sporting Life", published in 1911 by The Biographical Press. 625 pages all intact and good tight binding. All pages, text, engravings and illustrations are in good, clean, readable order. Nameplate label on inside marbled front board and signed. Nice engraving of The Earl Of Eglinton and Winton, M.F.H. at the beginning of the book. The volume is respectively dedicated to the Right Honourable George Arnulph Montgomerie Fifteenth Earl of Eglinton and Winton M.F.H. In my humble opinion this book is a work of art, the engraving are fabulous, loads of interesting sporting and prominent individuals who graced our land rightly or wrongly whichever position one takes. However this is a book full of historical significance and should be preserved for future generations.
