Single issue of monthly periodical which, per single OCLC holding, apparently only ran from 1889 to 1891. Stitch-bound magazine: H 28.5cm x L 21cm. Pagination includes front and rear covers - paged as 1-12, 25-27, [28-36] - evidently missing pages 13-24 but no gap in the stitching/binding to indicate those leaves were ever present. Publication folded horizontally at center with some resulting tears at those folds as thin paper has some age-related brittleness. Pale pink paper covers with some tears, soiling, and creasing. Front cover title page (i.e. page 1) specifies "No. 3. Ninety-Nine Choice Readings and Recitations" but page 3 has "Ninety Nine Choice Readings and Recitations. Number Five.".

104pp, oblong (11.25 x 8.5 inches), 50 b&w photos, printed one side only. Good condition in gray wrappers (soft covers) with black titles and illustration (a b&w drawing) on front cover. The covers are worn, with creasing and a one inch tear at top edge of front cover and two more at head and tail of spine. The spine is chipped, three little pieces missing. The pages show some yellowing, with very light foxing to title page. Corners are rubbed, lower corner is bent, pages are all affected. There is a one inch tear at top edge of title page, and the first two pages are creased at lower corner. Despite this brutally honest description, the contents (photos) are still clean, crisp, no tears or creases to the pages, no markings. Except for the title page and a one page introduction, the book is composed of black and white photos of buildings and landscapes in the vicinity of Alexandria Bay. Each photo is identified, but there are no other comments and no mention of a photographer. The introductory page is attributed to "The Board of Trade of Alexandria Bay, New York." Digital photos available.
