Il volume, diviso in tre parti, raccoglie una grande quantità di componimenti di vario metro, per lo più di poeti dilettanti: la prima parte contiene 64 sonetti ed è impressa con grande ricchezza di ornamenti silogr., la seconda abbraccia "canzoni ed altri più lunghi componimenti" e la terza è dedicata ai "Canti tre dell'abate Domenico Ongaro". Legatura coeva in mezza-pelle con la definizione di miscellanea e ricchi fregi in oro al dorso. Piatti foderati con carta marmorizzata coeva. Tagli spruzzati di rosso. La prima opera è una versione pirata, edita probabilmente nello stesso anno della prima di un noto scritto di Vincenzo Monti. La seconda opera è la prima edizione fiorentina, contemporanea alle tre edizioni milanesi, di uno dei noti componimenti di Vincenzo Monti. La terza opera, stampata a Rimini da Giacomo Marsoner,l contiene la biografia del noto poeta e letterato riminese, noto per il suo viaggio sul Reno che descrisse in un noto volume. L'ultima opera è la più importante fra quelle inserite nella miscellanea che raccoglie le ecloghe ed i componimenti del celeberrimo poeta, scrittore e commediografo fiorentino, Anton Francesco Grazzini detto il Lasca (Firenze, 22 marzo 1505 Firenze, 18 febbraio 1584) fra i massimi esponenti della poesia boccaccesca e bernesca e fra i massimi difensori della poesia giocosa e popolare fiorentina. L'opera porta al frontespizio la data del 1799 ma la dedicatoria ai nobili lucchesi Giacomo e Cesare Lucchesini porta la data 1816. Questa discrepanza deriva dal fatto che Domenico Poggiali, figlio del defunto Gaetano, decise di pubblicare l'opera che il padre aveva finito più di quindici anni prima, nel 1816 quando a Domenico si presentò la possibilità di editare l'opera. Questa edizione è di notevole importanza in quando Gaetano Poggiali portò avanti per diversi anni ricerche d'archivio in vari importanti biblioteche pubbliche e private arrivando ad identificare alcuni componimenti mai editi prima in un codice originale Palatino della Magliabechiana oltre che da vari codici autografi resi disponibili da Domenico Moreni. L'opera è quindi in parte una prima edizione. Rif. Bibl.: per l'ultima opera, Gamba 536: "Quantunque porti questa stampa la data 1799, tuttavia non si rese pubblica fino all' anno 1817 per cura di Domenico figlio di Gaetano Poggiali.
