La relation complète du voyage du comte Demidoff paraîtra à Paris, chez Ernest Bourdin, en 1840-1842, sous le titre de : Voyage dans la Russie méridionale et la Crimée par la Hongrie, la Valachie et la Moldavie. Elle sera illustrée d une centaine de lithographies originales dessinées d après nature par Raffet. Itinéraire du voyage pour ces quatre lettres : Vienne - Pesth - Buckarest - Yassy - Vidin - Oréava - Roustouk - Giourjévo - Yalta - Vosnesensk - Odessa (excursions dans les environs) - Bender - Kicheneff - Novoceltz - Tchernovitz - Lemberg - Olmütz - Brünn - Vienne (excursion à l abbaye de Neubourg) - Lintz - Nuremberg - Francfort - Paris. Illustre famille d industriels, les Demidoff ont accompagné l histoire de la Russie durant trois siècles. Des premières fonderies de fer de la Sibérie au XVIIe siècle à l exploitation industrielle des mines d argent, ainsi que des mines de pierres semi-précieuses au XIXe siècle, les Demidoff créèrent d immenses richesses dans les reliefs de ces contrées. Talentueux entrepreneurs, grands voyageurs, leur nom et leur influence intellectuelle et artistique ainsi que leur puissance financière s imposèrent en Russie comme en Europe. Chez cette noble famille russe, la bienfaisance fut une vertu et durant toute leur histoire, ils ne cessèrent d aider les plus humbles. Bienfaiteurs et mécènes des beaux-arts et des sciences, leur importante collection d art fut l une des plus prestigieuses de leur époque.
