Se casó con el general del ejército napoleónico Christophe Merlin, y se tuvo que huir de España como afrancesada. En la capital se estableció como gran personaje (y belleza) de la sociedad parisiense, autora, admirada cantante aficionada, protectora de liberales españoles exiliados, y amiga de Georges Sand, Balzac, Chopin, y Berlioz, entre otros. Fue una de las mujeres hispanas más destacadas de su época, musa del romanticismo francés, pero también autora de un buen número de obras, tanto novelas como UTOBIOGRÁFICAS. Este libro no está recogido por Palau, pero sí por la web Historia Hispánica de la Real Academia de la Historia. Ningún ejemplar en la BNE ni en el CCPB.
