The binding remains structurally firm and tight, though the original blue cloth boards exhibit significant damp-mottling, discolouration, and spotting, alongside a tanned spine that is gently rubbed at the head and tail. The gilt tooling to the front board, featuring vignettes of monoplanes and a coastal flight scene, retains some brightness but is subdued by the surface marking and wear. The extremities are slightly bumped and rubbed.
